The Princess of Cups

Inspired by the legend of the Czech princess Libuše, who prophesied the foundation of Prague.

Looks like it's been longer than I thought since I last visited here! This card is just gorgeous! Well, they're all gorgeous, but I'm a little obsessed with the Czech Republic lately :) Love that you included one from there.

These cards are absolutely magical and wonderful please I do hope you finish them as I will be first in line to buy a pack! Your art is from the heart it's gorgeous there is such an atmosphere of fairy tale world oh, I can't say enough lol!

All the paintings are done on The Langton Extra smooth (hot pressed) grain satiné, 300g/m2 from Daler Rowney ...even though this paper is for watercolour, it works perfectly well for pencil colours.

I've used all sorts of pencil colours for the cards, from water colour pencils such as Inktense, Graphitint, Rexel (all 3 from Derwent), Albrecht Durer (Faber Castell), to traditional pencil colours, such as Pablo (Caran D'ache), Polycromos (Faber Castell) ,Bruynzeel and every pencil colour I have come across.

In some cases, for details, I've use a thin brush on the watercolour pencils... and yet considering the size of the drawing themselves, too much detail is almost impossible.

The original size of the all the drawings is 15,4 x 22,8 cms.

The final card size would be 8,1 x 12,9 cms.
